JLL has revealed that the coworking market will overtake the tech sector in office leases this year.
In the first half of the year, coworking spaces leased over 10.1 million square feet of space and the tech sector took up 10.7 million square feet.
With the gap closing in, JLL expects coworking to come out on top in office leasing for this year.
Leading the growth is San Diego-based CommonGrounds Workplace, which has signed seven leases this year after receiving a $100 million in Series A Funding.
Now, the coworking firm has announced it has signed a 10-year lease at an art deco tower in Chicago that will serve as its flagship location.
CommonGrounds will take up the second and third floors of the 38-story building.
