Washington, D.C. has increasingly become a place to be for coworking with more creative spaces to work out of popping up each year. The District welcomed Mindspace this summer but had to bid farewell to prominent coworking space Impact Hub DC earlier this year in January and 1776 DC will soon join the list come Dec. 31.
From a hot desk, to a shared office, or even a private meeting room, there’s more than 20 coworking spaces the District has to offer. The list below includes coworking space locations, a short description with a shoutout to some cool amenities. In 2019, the District can expect new coworking offices from The Bond Collective, Two Birds and more.

1776 DC
1133 15th St NW
1776’s DC location overlooks downtown D.C. from the 12th floor with open seating space, conference rooms, an array of vintage Craigslisted furniture and a director of culinary named Sam Johnson who caters lunch every Wednesday and Thursday. The incubator opened in 2013 and has since had many changes from merging with Benjamin’s Desk last fall to launching its own accelerator program this year. 1776 DC’s website now reads “Temporarily Closed” as the prominent incubator and coworking space will close down its office Dec. 31, in hopes of finding a new home in 2019, Technical.ly DC previously reported. 1776 has a nearby location in Crystal City, where its welcoming its D.C. members to relocate to.

Inclusive Innovation Incubator
2301 Georgia Ave NW
Launched in April 2017, the Inclusive Innovation Incubator, commonly called In3DC, aims to host and support diverse entrepreneurs. The office space was designed by D.C.-based architecture firm Wingate Hughes and the incubator just recently hosted Street Pitch, D.C.’s version of “Shark Tank.” The space which is situated next to Howard University is joint venture between D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Howard University and In3DC. The incubator has 50+ open seats with four conference rooms and open desk seating starting at $200 and private offices starting at $750.

Alley DC Powered by Verizon
2055 L St NW suite 400
This D.C. coworking space powered by Verizon is a hub for entrepreneurs and creators in the area. The telecom giant partnered with New York-based Alley to turn some old D.C. property into a creative space designed by Gensler, Technical.ly DC previously reported. The coworking space opened in June 2017 with a mix of open workspaces and private offices, as well as mural art by D.C.-based artist Rose Jaffe.
Cool Amenities: Nursing room, unlimited coffee, tea and cereal day passes for $25
Mindspace
1301 K St NW
Tel Aviv-based coworking company Mindspace expanded to the U.S. this past July after growth in Europe and Israel, and landed one of its first two locations in D.C. Situated in the same building as the Washington Post, Mindspace will definitely give you Harry Potter vibes as soon as you walk in. The 31,000 sq. ft. K Street location has a full kitchen, lounges, books on books and chill out areas (aka space for you to take a little nap). Large or small, Mindspace has room for various sized companies with open space desks starting at $450.

WeWork
1875 K St NW, (with other locations)
WeWork has nine D.C. locations according to its website, with the newest location opening being its Chinatown office located at 777 6th St NW, which just opened its doors in October. The bicostal chain of coworking spaces has dedicated desks starting at $450, though prices may vary depending on the location.

MakeOffices

MakeOffices is another chain of coworking spaces with five D.C. locations spreading from K Street, to Dupont Circle and the Wharf. The coworking space grants its members 24/7 access and has an extensive list of amenities including locker storage, parking, a recording room and more.
Cool Amenities: Relaxation rooms with massage chairs, discounted gym memberships, unlimited craft beer on tap
The Hive 2.0

The Hive 2.0 offers three levels of memberships with 24/7 access, flexible terms, meeting space and more. With the support of Capital One Bank, this coworking space hosts small business workshops and networking events that are free and open to the public.

cove’s 14th street location might be one of its most popular offices in the District, but the coworking company has multiple locations through D.C. The company’s prides itself on being “your neighborhood workplace” by offering open work space, meeting rooms, community and networking events.

Regus is booming with nine D.C. locations and soon to be 10 when the coworking company opens up a new space on L Street. Regus features high-profile locations with flexible pay-as-you-go buying options. Prices vary by the location.

District Offices

Formerly DC Workspaces, District Offices has four D.C. locations that feature private offices, virtual offices, dedicated desks and coworking space. The coworking company has a goal is to provide an office solution for tenants ranging from solopreneurs to Fortune 500 companies, its website reads. The Farragut location is HUBZone qualified and locations feature Class A buildings.
Cool Amenities: State-of-the-art plug and play tech, large work spaces (88-person training room at the Capitol Hill location.
Locale Workspace
1320B H Street NE
Locale Workspace is functioning to fill the gap between coffee shops and corporate workspaces with community focused coworking spaces. The H Street coworking space has 40 open seats, wifi and printing options.

Hera Hub DC

Hera Hub DC is a coworking space and incubator exclusively for women in the District. The international female-focused coworking space
